COACHES

Head Varsity Co-Coach - Calli Floyd

Calli is entering her third season with Douglas County and her seventh season coaching overall. She grew up in a sports-loving family, surrounded by sisters who played basketball. Although she was often reluctant to tag along to their games, it was at one of those games that she saw her first halftime performance by the dance team. She vividly remembers thinking, “I want to be one of them.” That moment was the beginning of her love for dance.

Calli was a dedicated member of the Highlands Ranch High School Dance Team for all four years, where her love for the sport deepened. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles to explore a professional dance career. While the experience was invaluable and eye-opening, she soon realized that the professional dance world wasn't the right fit for her long term.

After returning to Colorado, Calli found a way to remain involved in dance - Coaching. She discovered that her greatest joy comes not only from dance itself, but from mentoring and inspiring the next generation of dancers and helping them grow both technically and personally.

Outside of coaching, Calli works full-time in property management. Coaching remains a meaningful way for her to stay connected to her passion for dance, while also giving back to the community that shaped her own journey.

She brings a unique balance of real-world experience, technical knowledge, and heartfelt leadership to the County program, and she’s excited for another incredible season with the team!

Head Varsity Co-Coach - Hope Larsen

Hope Larsen was born and raised in Douglas County and grew up training at a variety of local dance studios, exploring nearly every style of dance. She discovered her passion for poms in high school, earning a spot on the inaugural freshman poms team at Rock Canyon High School. During her senior year, she served as varsity captain, leading her team to a record-setting placement at nationals.

After graduating high school, Hope continued to pursue dance in college while earning her business degree in 2018. Since then, she has privately trained dancers, helping them refine their technique and prepare for auditions. Inspired by her daughter’s growing love of dance, Hope returned to the poms world to share her expertise and enthusiasm with the next generation.

As co-head coach, Hope is passionate about helping dancers grow not only as athletes, but as confident, resilient individuals. She brings years of leadership, knowledge, and heart to the Douglas County Dance Team.
